When I was at Nats this year, I had a great conversation with Illustration Art Director, Hitch, about the evolution of the art we see. In each release, there’s always a new twist on something, whether it be the stat icons getting IP-specific styles, or the Obsidians in Origins of Power getting true alternate arts. So, what’s new with the Chromes in Heroes of Exandria? Well I’ve been saying for months that this set marks the return of color to our game, so let’s pop a sweet bead of the brilliant stuff right on our flagship cards.

The Chromes sport a rainbow of flare this time around, wach with their own unique color accenting their weapon of choice. These are truly the best Chromes I’ve seen so far and I’m excited to pull one. But moreover, I’m excited that the design team isn’t content with Chromes that are just good enough. The Chromes we’re seen before have been fantastic! The red Chrome Hawks is insane and still my favorite Chrome to this day. It’s nice to see the team use color in a more intentional way and make the cards pop even more. Can’t wait to see what comes next. Until then, I’ll see you on the tables!
