2025 Organized Play Schedule!

Update:

After talking with UVS Games, I misunderstood the graphic posted below. The events happening at PEX East, UK Games Expo, Gen Con, PAX West, & PAX Unplugged are NOT regionals. They are demo events to show off the game to mass audiences and bring in new players. The regional locations are in white text under the regional logo. The article assumes all the events are regionals.

WE HAVE IT! UVS Games just dropped the schedule for Regionals for 2025. We’ve been long awaiting this announcement because it brings with it one of the biggeest changes for the game moving forward, MORE EVENTS IN MORE PLACES! In 2024, we saw 3 regionals throughout the United States each just before the release of a new set. The Top Decks’ meta-defining shockwaves were stymied by the release of new cards and format shifts. It was hard to get a read on what the meta was without tapping into a handful of creators and players that we trust had the sauce perfected. Well, that changes in 2025!

UVS goes from 9 regionals worldwide in 2024 to 15 regionals in 2025. We don’t have the dates for all of the events quite yet, but we can see how different countries are represented.

USA – 6, UK – 2, OCE – 2, Canada – 1, EUR – 1

UVS is branching out to new areas with Canada and “Europe” featured on the list of events this year. Could this be an opportunity for Spain to get OP support? I have a good percentage of readers Spain, so I’d love to see some of you get the opportunity to compete.

The coming year seems to be a tricky balance of more competition, and a tempered rate of new releases. Kicking off the year, the regional in Denver will be very telling. Will we still get regional promos specific to each event? What will the point system look like for qualifying for Nats? Will we need to travel to several of these regionals in order to compete? Will EU and OCE get a boost since they have less events to attend? Will judges earn points to qualify for Nats? Many questions flood the mind, but thankfully they’re good questions to be asking.

Now that we have constant Premiere level events, that really takes the pressure off creators like Tam and Let’s Talk UVS to put on events during the lull periods. Instead, we can use our energy analyzing real games and talking about the ever -changing leaderboard (that I HOPE will be working all year this time).

August is going to be an INTENSE month for UVS. We have 3 regionals that month, and UVS Games has announced that they will be going to a 3-card promo pack for LGS support to coincide with the release of the Teenage Mutant ninja Turtles Booster Set, also in August. One of those Regionals will be at the biggest event of the year, GenCon, and will surely be the first place to get your hands on Leo, Donny, Raph, Mikey and the rest of the ooze-riddled universe.

I’m pretty excited for the schedule. The events seem pretty spread out allowing the committed ones of us to still make it to as many events as possible without wearing down our wallets with too many releases. I expect the excitement around the game from players already in the game to soar as we’ll focus on fun rather than keeping up. It’s an awesome announcement. Now, I want to hear about the judge program, the dates for these events, the points system, the Challenger Deck schedule, will MHA/Solo Leveling ever come back, and how often will we get webcam events? Most of those answers are coming soon, and until then I’ll see you on the tables!
