We got the Product Roadmap for 2024 way back in December of last year. That’s when we learned Attack On Titan would be making it’s debut along with the return of My Hero Academia. But there were some questions left unanswered. Some of the releases didn’t have dates and one product was just a big ‘?’. I covered this at the time, and you can read all about that release here: https://myherometa.com/2023/12/11/uvs-product-roadmap-2024/

Well half way through 2024, it’s time to get updated on the future of what’s to come! We know AoT: Battle For Humanity is on the horizon, just 39 days away at the time of writing. The 2nd Attack on Titan set, Origins of Power has been teased but nothing is known about it so far. The MHA Challenger Deck is still a mystery as well as the last Challenger deck of the year. So, what did they shed light on?

First off, we get some info for the MHA Challenger Series, Dark Hero Arc. We’ll finally get some cards aimed at the penultimate arc of the story. I got a peek at what the deck holds from UVS Games, and believe me it’ll be worth the wait! With the release date well after Battle for Humanity, I expect to see new keywords and game mechanics, giving AoT’s Levi Challenger decks a proper rival.

As any game with a long, rich history knows, u can’t go too far into the future without taking a look back into the past. Tekken makes it’s return to UVS on October 24th with two Clash Decks. It’s interesting that these will be Clash Decks, with a $12 price point, and not Challenger Decks. Clash decks have always mirrored Booster Sets, but now that they’re off doing their own thing, they might add a way for UVS Games to reach more small IPs without a major investment. #BeetleBorgs2025 anyone? 😅 If we see the same number of sets, Challenger decks next year and 4 Clash Decks, we could visit up to 14 different worlds in 2025!

In October, we have a release date for AoT: Origins of Power, November 8th. This marks the first time since 2019 that Universus has released 4 sets in a calendar year and looks to keep that pace going forward. That’s going to be key for the game as we are going to have to move to a new Regional format next year that allows players to play more often at the highest level where most players reside. Three months between sets gives me enough time to collect, experiment, get destroyed, and still get hype for the next set without getting bored in the middle.
Origins of Power will pick up where Battle For humanity leaves off (somewhere in Season 2 of the anime), and take us all the way through the manga’s pages unlimited by chapters. The art in the manga changes sharply as the Scouts are less worried about dying to Titans and get more… diplomatic concerns in the later chapters. The artwork’s technique and tone change drastically as the manga goes on and I’m told you’ll see this reflected in the next set.

December 8th sees the debut of a new UP to UVS, Star Trek! … lower decks… The critically acclaimed show has been shut down after 5 seasons, as it looks for a new network. Personally, I loved season 1 and I can’t wait to see the team’s take on Beckett Mariner and the crafty cadets manning the USS Ceritos.

That does it for UVS, but if you’re looking for a game to play with the family this holiday season, UVS Games will debut it’s Star Trek version of the hit deckbuilding game Star Realms. I’ve never heard of Star Realms before hearing of this product, but everyone I talk to about it tells me Star Realms is an elite deck builder. I’ll be doing a review on release, so check back here this October to see my review!
Welp, you’re ready for the rest of 2024! I would expect a primer on OP, a product roadmap, and an update to the website are all coming in the next few months to get up properly ready for 2025. I’d expect we still have more changes to the game coming and I’ll be here every step of the way to get you through them. Until next time, I’ll see you on the tables!
