UVS Games has been hard at work over the past 2 years attacking every flaw they could in their company, trying to polish this game into the best TCG in the world. Another step today. If you’ve learned this game in the past year, you might have experienced the Universus Demo Program, where an experienced player uses the Bakugo & Midoriya Demo Decks to take you through the paces and show you how to play the game. These decks dis the job, but feedback revealed they had too much text for some newer players and some games went too long.

Attack On Titan Demo Decks! So, from the images here we can see that the cards are geared towards a much quicker paced game with easier math. Most of the block modifiers are 0 to make the Block Step less confusing as you won’t have to add the speed to the Block Mod; something that confused players I played with as they assumed the bigger the block mod, the better. The Characters health is also 15 making for a quick match, while also sporting powerful effects that force you to Commit your character, limiting the number of times you press that button. A lot of the Foundations have flavor text instead of effects, again removing extra buttons to push and making attacks shoot off faster.
This deck is not intended to be a meta-relevent resource, or even legal for tournament play. It is for demo purposes only and gives teachers of the game a way to get people a splash of Universus in 10 minutes without a lot of confusion.
Opinion
I’ve been waiting for the new Demo experience for many months and I’m glad that it’s coming. I’d like to see it hit stores before the Spring, when a lot of players will be returning to their LGSs and looking for Organized Play. I love the choice of IP to demo the game, and AoT is a universally loved IP. I would like to see something that a new player can take away when they complete a demo. Before, new players would get free packs or a demo deck of their own. I’m sure there details will be forthcoming. For now, I love the progress. Until next time, I’ll see you on the tables!
