We won’t have to wait until GAMA Expo to get the snapshot 2024’s UVS products this year! If you’re following the UniversusCCG Youtube channel, you just got the primer for what’s to come in 2024. Plenty of questions remain and we’ll get to those below, but first let’s dive into what we just found out…

January 19th:
As we’re known for a while, Cowboy Bepop makes it’s return to UVS bringing along Trigun: Stampede this January in the newest SKU, the Challenger Series. These decks will retail for ~$34.99 and a whole different breed from the $12 Starter Decks. They’ll feature 2 playable Characters per deck, ready-to-win strategies, and an extra pack of foil promo cards from the Challenger Series itself. I expect those cards to hold a good amount of value as cracking just one of those packs will be expensive. Check out my Youtube video coming tonight for more info.
February 23:
The future effectively begins here… by stepping back into our past. The 1st Booster set of 2024 releases with several gorgeous cards that I’ll leave here. With the release of the first non-MHA set since the UVS rebrand, that’ll shake up the OP events as well. (We’ve been playing in MHA-Only Blocked Format since My Hero Academia’s release in 2021.) We’re still waiting on the official OP announcement for 2024, so stay tuned. We do know that Standard will be the featured format going forward, so all IPs will be legal for play.
March 21st:
DUNGEAONS & DRAGONS! I didn’t even know this, but apparently this team of D&D players started a campaign in 2012 and it’s exploded into an entire franchise complete with a Amazon Prime cartoon, podcasts, and now an entry in a TCG! Makes me wonder what I’m doing with my life…
Vox Machina and Mighty Nein are definitely the most mysterious entries to the 2024 Roadmap, but should also offer the most unique play experience being the first non-anime based entry to modern-day UVS.
Nothing in April? We’ll see…

May 17th:
My Hero returns in Spring with Girl Power, it’s 7th Booster Set for MHA. Not much to speculate on this one. Just one thing to say… get your wallets ready for waifu!
June 21st:
The last date we have confirmed so far… The Godzilla Challenger Series. With the new Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire movie releasing April 12th, I wouldn’t be surprised if we see an appearance from some of other Titans in this epic battle.
Fall/Winter:
Rounding out the year, UVS is throwing out their biggest pitch. Attack on Titan! That’ll loosely coincide with the release of the dub’s release of the conclusion to one of the most anticipated anime ending of all-time. Coming out with two sets makes it pretty logical to have one set for the beginning of the show inside the walls, and then later on in the show when more secrets in the show get revealed and power levels raise sky high!
With Challenger decks from MHA and AoT rounding out the year, with one spot open, there’s one question that’s left to ask. Where does that leave us?
“Where does that leave us?“
We know the sets now. The RLE promos usually change in the beginning and mid-year, so does that mean they’ll be mixing IPs? We’re also still waiting on Starter decks, Plus Ultra promos, random surprising promos (lol, cuz UVS be awesome like that), and PSC promos for 2024. These will come up as we get through the year, but just keep in mind that there’s so much more of every IP that we are yet to get to.
We also got teased on whether we’ll be getting any Fighting Game product in 2024. UVS has been pretty intentional about their signaling in the past and leads me to believe we’ll be seeing some of our favorite martial artists soon.
What about Organized Play?
We still don’t know where we’ll be playing after the HLC in Orlando. We usually have 2 seasons that match up with the releases of sets, but with the move to 4 sets this year, will we get 3 seasons of RLEs and PSCs instead of 2? Will RLEs all be Standard? Will there be a new tournament type for Spotlight formats to have a path to Nats? Will RLE Champion cards be Character cards this year, matching their migration of Chrome Rares? Does the new proximity to Amazon Studios mean we’re closer to getting Invinsible? Does YYH mean the same for Hunter x Hunter? Only time will tell. I can’t wait to bring you the latest as the year unfolds, and until then I’ll see you on the tables!
