JET BURN Ultra Rares REVEALED

Today, UVS Games unveiled the fresh new look of its Ultra Rares starting in Set 5: Jet Burn. URs will show off a new silver border and have their own gradient near the bottom to make their art extra special. The art and gradient updates are gorgeous, but you can see that for yourself. Let’s dive into what these cards are and what decks just picked up a nice addition…

Eri Smiles shows off one of the most pivotal moments in the show and shows up with a similar impact on the table. Air & Good decks will enjoy their own Learning the Standards level defensive play, one of the best cards at stopping an attack turn and slowing down the best decks in the format right now, like Eraser-Death, Jiro, and Mirio.

The Enhance is largely an afterthought outside of decks like All Might 3 that can reliably draw cards that are set on top of the deck, but even then drawing foundations on demand isn’t the most attractive option.

The Haunting of Hitoshi Shinso is one of those cards that makes you happy to give a character like Shinso 2 a try (There better be a Shinso 2 in this set… otherwise…) The Echo is what makes this card. Making your opponent Stun 4 or Discard 2 is devastating and this card delivers it all, potentially, without committing a single resource. The speed is a bit slow for a 5 difficulty attack, but it more than makes up for that with Stage disruption, clearing the way for your later attacks.

If Nejire doesn’t see play after this… smh… Incredible Display lives up to the name, allowing Hado and others to reuse blocks like Evade & Copy or Harden. Mix that in with a standing Response cancel, and the Life & Earth symbols gain even more control over the board and their defensive walls get even bigger. The block modifier does give me pause and with the cost for both effects being commits, you probably won’t be spamming this at a 4 of in any decks any time soon. However, the strength of this card is pretty clear. Expect to see this at the top tables!

You know how every set has a card that people lose their mind over? They say it’s absolutely unfair for months and not that much comes of it? Enter: Pro Hero Rankings. Now, I haven’t heard anyone clamoring for this asset quite yet, but it fits the bill. The effect to add a few points of damage to your attack is pretty strong, especially if you run a Character like All Might 3 or Rock Lock, who can add cards in afterward that your rival doesn’t have knowledge of. Breaker 1 is pretty nice as well.

The real news is the static effect, however. When you can reliably cycle because you’ll still have access to your best attacks, that’s a pretty strong, meta-defining ability. I’m thinking to the RLE final in the UK last weekend and how some people thought the players best shot at victory was a deckout because the cards in the deck were running low and the best attacks in the deck had been cycled out. Putting this ability on the infinity symbol allows decks that move through their deck faster and play more cards to avoid a punishment for playing to their play style. I’ll be interested to see where this card fits into most players’ lists. I’d be surprised if it’s much more than a side deck piece.
