Set 5 Changes – Undaunted Raid
With Undaunted Raid, Jasco is making some widespread changes. 1st Edition packs are no more as we move to one Standard Edition for all booster boxes from here on out. I’m SUPER excited for this because of what it means for all the other changes.

I didn’t want to grind for Chrome Rares from Set 3 because that meant giving up the Extra Credit Packs, which were guaranteed in each box. Now, I can buy my cases of Undaunted Raid without having to wonder if I made the right choice and that’ll put hobby store owners’ minds at ease even more than mine! The boost to an SR per box seemed pretty logical. Most SRs haven’t been powerful enough to push players to buy multiple boxes anyway. Hopefully, they’ll put some beautiful art, eye-popping foil patterns, and game-altering effects on these cards so that they’ll make players want to grind packs in hopes of hitting one of these SRs.

SAVING THE SEALED EVENT! THANK YOU! One of the most common problems with Sealed events is players not pulling character cards. Unlike prerelease events, we don’t have characters on hand to guarantee players that aren’t lucky enough to pull one. I’ve had to bring characters from my personal stash when my store has run Sealed events for Sets 1-3 so that we could accommodate everyone. Jasco is once again listening and making strides to fix this by putting a Character Card in EVERY pack. Not only is this great for Sealed, but it’s great for new players in general! People like to run their favorite character and making it easier pull makes the game more accessible. Win!

I’ll be interested to see what 18 characters means. In League of Villains, the Booster set only had 8 characters. However, after you add in the Starter Decks, Plus Ultra Packs, DLC, and Quirk packs, the set sums up to 17 Characters. So, with the removal o DLCs, will the total of all Set 5 products add up to 18 Characters? If so, I think that’s a sweet number to both add a new wave of fresh flavor to the game and keep some level of consistency between sets. I can’t wait to run The Big 3 and see Overhaul try to take down big events with real prizes on the line.

P.S. If ANY body can tell me the rhyme or reason Hado, Twice and some others have their life and Hand Size icons on the right side of the card instead of the left, please clue me in. It seems so random…
